The Rhea County Fair Board of Directors, Members, Sponsors, Vendors, and Entertainers would like to thank you for a very successful 2011 fair. Each year our volunteers strive to plan and emplement an entertaining few days celebrating our rich agricultural heritage.

2011 saw spectacular events both new and old. The Headrick Rodeo, as always, was fantastic and drew the largest crowds to date. The Ag Credit exhibit building was filled to overflowing with exhibit entries and the Ken Purser Agricultural Barn bustled with livestock shows and judging.  Many beautiful people competed in the Fairest of The Fair Pageants and Age of Elegance Pageants, while some "not so pretty" men competed in the "womanless" beauty pageant.  Your 2010 Rhea County Fair Age of Elegance winner, Mrs Judy Barth, was voted Senior Miss Tennessee and and went on to represent our great state at National Competition in Atlantic City NJ.  Mother Nature, not to be outdone, came to visit in the form of Tropical Storm Lee, and forced a change in venue for the 5th annual Old Timers Day. Many vendors were on hand to provide patrons with culinary fair delights, while others put on static demostrations of Old Time farm life. Many local entertainers came to perform and the fair closed with a concert by Grand Ole Opry Member Mike Snider.

The 2012 Fair will prove to be more spectacular than ever because it continues to grow each years. Plans are to expand the carnival this year to a full event with over 20 rides and games, more exhibits, more vendors, and more local entertainers.
The Fair Volunteers and Board of Directors realize that the key to ongoing success is your patronage. We thank you.

At this time, your Fair Board Members are preparing to go to the Tennessee Association of Fairs convention, to be held in Nashville Teneesse, January 19th and 20th. We will be presenting static and dynamic exhibits showcasing The Rhea County Fair events in competion against other Tennessee county Fairs. Best wishes to Rhea County Fairest of The Fair Queen, Miss Maria Shepherd, as she competes for Miss Tennessee Fairest of The Fair.
